Last Friday, 27th April 2018, six of us from Brinkburn St joined the wonderful staff and 40 other lucky people in the Blackfriars medieval banqueting hall for a 6-course, 7-beer food pairing event.
The 6-course, 7-beer tasting menu was agreed a few weeks ago, further to an extended ‘tasting lunch’ attended by our Head Brewer Richard Bazen, Head Chef Gareth Baty and Andy Hook, MD and Chris Wardale, Head Chef of Blackfriars.
They managed the daunting task of taste-testing around 15 dishes with 10 beers, that’s 150 combinations!
Their deliberations resulted in a magnificent 6 courses, paired expertly with 6 Brinkburn St beers along with a bottle of Canny Sculler II as an opening palate cleanser.
